Abstract

This paper examines the mental health challenges faced by refugees in Southeast Asia, focusing on the region's unique socio-economic and cultural contexts. With an increasing number of displaced individuals seeking safety and stability, the psychological impact of displacement on refugees becomes a critical area of concern. The study analyzes the prevalence of mental health issues such as PTSD, depression, anxiety, and trauma among this population. It investigates the factors contributing to these challenges, including long-term displacement, loss of identity, and exposure to violence. Furthermore, the paper identifies the gaps in mental health services and support systems available to refugees, highlighting the urgent need for culturally sensitive and comprehensive interventions. The findings underscore the importance of addressing mental health as a critical component of refugee assistance and advocate for the integration of mental health care within broader refugee support programs.
